How to become a better Artist

It is not the shots that we miss but the shots we never take that will live with us forever. Want to become a better artist? Not sure about how to approach the idea here are some top tips and tricks of the trade.

• 1. Draw from your shoulder - Some times as artist we are tired of working sometimes 40hrs on a piece. Drawing from your shoulder instead of your wrist is the top way to become a better artist. It will seem tough at first, but the more you do it the better you will become.

• 2. Draw from life - Everyday objects (still life) are a great way to see depth, tones, and shadows. They make you challenge your self in previously unthought ways. Want to test your skill? Draw a white paper bag or a crinkled up napkin. To test your control

•3. Draw from different perspectives - Perspective in life just like in art is our ability to see what's going on and tell it from our own subjective interpretation. 1 point. 2 point. Worms eye or birds eye is a great way to see art as you've never seen it.

•4. Use different media - Chocoal, pencil, colored pencil, watercolor, pencil crayons, acrylic. Whatever your preferred media challenge yourself to go outside of the boundaries and watch as you surprise yourself.

•5. Sketch of the day - take 15 mins a day every day and draw as much as you can and be as realistic as possible. Watch as your skills improve and your sketchbooks fill up.
