5 styles to transition to Natural hair

When it comes to where we are in the universe. Are we where we belong? If a grain of sand blows off of the beach into the ocean is it where it was supposed to be all along? Hair Is a vortex within a vortex. Millions of spirals on your head merging onto a spot. How do people get to be where they are in their natural hair journey? This is called the Transition.

5 styles to transition back to being Natural

We all start at birth with natural hair. It is not until the world tells us that something is wrong that we change ourselves for the world. When the world has always been here for us. There are many different transitional stages of being and staying natural.
Many of us still fear our hair being short and looking nappy, or sometimes even putting relaxers in the hair in the short stages. Relax your mind, relax your body, relax your expectations.
Relax everything except your hair! Both men and women usually start their natural hair journey with short hair. Men traditionally do it because it's usually short. Women do it to cut the permed hair, which is a great thing. Do not get discouraged along your journey. It will be a difficult one for most.

•1. Braids - Braids have so much historical significance to the culture. We have seen braids on the Olmec heads. Even the use of sacred geometry has appeared with the use of braiding in the past. Braids were away and still are a way to protect your natural hair on the journey. With infinite styles and unlimited creativity, braids have never and will never be out of style.

•2. Locs - Locs are a great way to become natural. Although your hair will likely transition 3 to 4 times until it is fully locked. At each time of your transition, it will take a different maintenance step until your hair can fully lock. Sometimes taking 9 months to a year until your hair is fully locked dreadlocks are great for both men and women.

•3. Twist - Twist is another protective style similar to the braid. It is a way to keep your hair intact temporarily, and unexposed. It is another way to form a coil also known as the twist out. People usually get twist when they want their hair to be a resting phase. Although your hair will be natural it will still require maintenance.

•4. Freeform - How free is free? To me, free form is the most liberating of all the styles! Because the maintenance is low but the care is high. The free form requires no combing. It lets your hair do what it does with no interruptions. The same way a lions mane grows undisturbed. Or even a dandelion in a field of dandelions. Just add water, oil and go.

•5. Bantu knots - Besides the style and being so similar to the style worn by Buddha. Bantu knots can be a great way to lock in moisture in your hair. Keep your Bantu knots slightly loose not to tight because it will damage the scalp if done incorrectly and applied too tightly.

Closing questions. What do you do when you are forced to see your reflection in someone else? What is the value of a thing?

As always,

Good Vibes and increased awareness
